In light of recent events, the Session and Buildings & Grounds Committee of First Presbyterian Church are forming a subcommittee to address campus security. This subcommittee will review available resources and consult with local law enforcement to develop a security plan for the church campus.
Until that plan is in place, the Session has adopted a set of security policies for Sunday mornings. Please note the measures to be taken at the following entrances to the buildings, which will reduce the number of open doors and areas that need to be patrolled throughout the morning:
Sanctuary- Main Street entrance
Doors unlocked 10:30 AM, Elder(s) and others on duty observing
Doors locked 11:10 AM, sign will direct latecomers to Sutherlin entrances
Sutherlin- Primary entrance
Doors unlocked 9:15 AM
Doors locked 11:10 AM
Elder(s) and others on duty observing
Sutherlin- Chapel entrance
Doors unlocked 9:15 AM
Doors locked 11:10 AM
Elder(s) and others on duty observing
Office- Main Street
Doors locked
Committees and classes open doors for fellow members, who are encouraged to enter from Sutherlin Ave. Sunday morning committees are now encouraged to meet on Sanctuary side of building.

With office side locked throughout Sunday mornings, weekend custodian will be attentive to the Sutherlin doors throughout the Sunday school and fellowship hours.
